SpaceX
American space technology company founded in 2002 with the mission to revolutionize space access and enable human life on other planets.
As of 2025, SpaceX has become the world's dominant space launch provider, with its launch cadence eclipsing all others, including private competitors and national programs like the Chinese space program.
The company achieved a record-breaking 138 launches in 2024, with 134 using its Falcon family of rockets. Having raised $9.7 billion in funding with a valuation of $350 billion, SpaceX has 13,000 employees and develops reusable rockets and spacecraft for cargo transport, human spaceflight, and satellite deployment.
Key achievements include becoming the first private company to return a spacecraft from low-Earth orbit, deliver cargo to the International Space Station (2012), and send astronauts to the ISS (2020). The company's Falcon 9 rockets have landed and flown again more than 450 times as of May 2025, achieving 1-3 launches per week.
Beyond its successful Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy programs, SpaceX is developing Starship, a fully reusable super-heavy lift system designed for Mars colonization, while its Starlink satellite constellation continues expanding global internet coverage. SpaceX operates from headquarters in Starbase, Texas, with additional facilities in Hawthorne, California, and testing sites in McGregor, Texas.
